Get Out! Events had the opportunity to participate in the X-Culture Competition as a case company. In this series, Felix shares his experiences and learning points.

In today’s excerpt, he shares how he made Get Out! Events become one of the most popular companies in this year’s program.

The first hurdle that I had to overcome as a client in the X-Culture program is getting teams to choose us to work on. How do I get the most researchers to work on Get Out! Events as opposed to other participating businesses? This is a struggle that resonates in our daily operations as well. Every single day, we are fighting for talent, trying to attract the best people to join our team. We want the best consultants working for us instead of our competitors.

I came up with a very simple solution, and all it involves is the heart. In order to be more attractive to students, we decided to put in the work first. I spent over a month working on the X-Culture document, putting as many details as possible into it. I believe by doing this, I made our business base more attractive to work on. We share more than just business information. The document also includes personal information about my wife Stacy and I. I shared about our business partnership, our relationship, our family.

While this might seem unnecessary in a business document, it worked out well for us. I believe that people will want to do business with other people, not companies. It’s like how we do things for our friends in a social setting. Having done business for so many years, that is one thing that I have understood. My point is proven once again when we became one of the most popular companies in this year’s X-Culture program.
